Paula & Collin

vows at the Supreme Court with their hearts on their sleeves

Let me start by saying this: I LOVE instagram. It's how Paula got in touch with me. Her and her beau, Collin, were coming into DC from Kansas City for a wedding (not their own). They're getting married November of 2018, with a church ceremony. But here's the thing. You can't personalize your vows in church ceremonies. So what do they do? Paula decides to surprise Collin on their DC trip with plans to take a sunrise visit to the Supreme Court to exchange intimate personal vows. She picked the Supreme Court because of a special connection to the case of Loving vs. Virginia (spoiler alert: it allowed interracial marriage back in '67) Paula chose me to photograph the occasion, and I'm eternally grateful. We skipped around the Hill for a few minutes after the vows to take some portraits and they were total stunners.
